CEC Leadership Changes

Cope Environmental Center continues to grow and change to meet community needs, and sometimes that means changes among staff, too.

CEC will soon begin a search for its next executive director as Traci Lewis has stepped down from this role to semi-retire.

Traci has been a longtime CEC volunteer and staff member in various positions since 2001. CEC values her time as executive director since November 2018. During her tenure, Traci was integral in the success of many events and programs at CEC and in the local and regional community. Her passion and drive for environmental education will be deeply missed. Traci will continue to volunteer her time at CEC and assist with this leadership transition.

We wish Traci the best on her next journey!

In this transition, CEC is happy to announce that Marie Cope Nicholson is serving as interim director during the search process.  Marie is retired from Earlham College where she worked with alumni relations, admissions and outdoor education programs. Marie has been a board member since the inception of Cope Environmental Center in 1992 and she is the daughter of  founders Jim and Helen Cope.

Please stop by the CEC Sustainability Education Center and welcome Marie to her new role!
